HOPEFUL ROMANTIX PRODUCTIONS
Nadine Crocker founded HOPEFUL ROMANTIX PRODUCTIONS; her first title under her production company was her debut feature film CONT;NUE, based on Crocker’s true story of battling depression much of her life and surviving a suicide attempt when she was 23. Crocker did not just want to become a WRITER/DIRECTOR because of her love for cinema; she hopes to change the world through her art.
She launched her company with the sole focus of IMPACT. All of the films she brings to life through Hopeful Romantix Productions have a significant purpose, part of the proceeds from the films go to charity for the poignant topics depicted through the films messaging.
Crocker often uses experiences from her personal life to inspire the stories she crafts, letting her trauma and past be a vessel to help others.
“Others ask if it’s heavy reliving my past and trauma through my writing and the creation of my films. But it does not feel like reliving, it feels like a release. It gives meaning to what I went through; I hope through my mistakes, others can learn and heal and save themselves from making the same mistakes. I feel a release when I share my story with others. It’s healing. All I want in this life is to help, to show those out there they are not alone.”
Crocker launched her own nonprofit for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, “The Continue On Organization.” Crocker was personally struggling, so she searched for mental health services in her area and was floored to find most do NOT take insurance, and the rates for a great provider were through the roof. If she could barely afford the services she needs, what does that mean for youth battling mental health? Our youth is the leading statistic for death by suicide in the United States. Unable to stand by, she started her nonprofit. Her dream for Continue On is to help others find their way out of the darkness and find health. Much like other disorders or disabilities, it is a spectrum. There is not a one-size-fits-all all for mental health, and EVERYONE should be able to receive the help they need.
“The CONTINUE ON ORGANIZATION will continue to elevate mental health and suicide prevention stories on its way to its highest dream of creating a subsidy to pay for mental health services for underprivileged youth. We will match them with a provider in their area and cover the costs. But to do that, we need help from YOU! Your donations don’t just help us reach our goals; they could SAVE A LIFE;”
